Warm Dish on Cold Days

Chicken cacciatore has become a bit of an "Americanized" Italian food but at it's core it remains a classic dish with rural roots. When translated it mean "hunters' style" and when executed well it can be a recipe of humble beginnings and rich flavor.

Fresh tomatoes aren't available for most of us right now but good quality canned whole tomatoes lightly broken up would work well in place of fresh.
