Pot O'Gold at the End of the Conifer Rainbow

Conifers fans hang in there spring is right around the corner. For now here's some video of Pinus mugo 'Pot O'Gold' and Picea abies 'Prostrata Aurea'.

Picea abies 'Prostrata Aurea' is a bit of a mystery because the American Conifer Society does not list a plant with this name. I'm sure there is a answer to the mystery but I'm content to know that it's a cool plant that has dreadlocks and golden hue on the needles.

Conifer Theater Continues

On our last episode of conifer theater we saw Bonna's jealousy of Wate's golden winter. Today, we see how little Pinus densiflora 'Low Glow' looks up at Cupressus glabra 'Blue Ice', wondering "will I ever grow that tall and why aren't I blue?"

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Video of Conifers

For some time I've wanted to get out my gear and video some of my conifer collection. Well, today was that long coming day.

There are two conifers featured in this clip. The first is Pinus sylvestris 'Bonna' and the second is Pinus virginiana 'Wate's Golden'.

Both are great pines with totally different looks. 'Bonna' is a super blue pine and 'Wate's Golden' has the great habit of going from green to school bus yellow in winter. Enjoy.
